Four confidential submissions were made to the committee on the Inquiry Into Issues Relating to the Illegal Possession of Firearms in New Zealand. One of them from someone you wouldn’t expect.
FOUNZ contacted the Clerk of Committee to find out who submitted confidential submissions. The clerk responded…
“…The committee has heard private evidence from the NZ Police, the NZ Police Association, The Council of Licensed Firearms Owners, and NZ Customs. The submissions they provided remain confidential to the committee, however it will be made publicly available on the Parliament website once the committee has completed the inquiry.
Hope this helps.

NZPA and COLFO both made public and confidential submissions. Our question to COLFO is why?
UPDATE: Thanks to COLFO for clearing this up for us. They released some information on their in-person submission earlier. You can read about it in the link below.
We appreciate COLFO’s efforts on this!
We still do not know what was contained in the Police, Customs or NZPA private submissions.
