The Law & Order Committee inquiry into issues relating to the illegal possession of firearms has completely ignored Judith Collins
Back in 2016, the then Police Minister, is quoted as saying “a gun inquiry should not penalize legal owners of firearms” and “A register would likely be a severe waste of time, given that those holding illegal firearms would not register them.” Judith, your party
Update: The L&O Select Committee has accepted the 5th and final draft of their Report on the Firearms Inquiry, by majority vote. It will be tabled, at the earliest, tomorrow or Friday (probably), at which point it will become publicly available.
Tomorrow, Licenced Firearm Owners find out whether the Law and Order Committee has followed Judith Collins advice – or has her New Zealand National Party thrown 250,000 Licenced Firearm Owners under the bus.
